Antibes - Juan les pins (10 à 15mn de Thalassoleil)

• Antibes-Juan les pins is the second largest city of the Alpes Martimes and is famous for its jazz festival and for artists who lived there such as Picasso. The ramparts that surround the old city and the Fort Carré are the remains of what used to be a garrison town. Today, Antibes continues to be a very dynamic city.


     

There are many monuments that echo to its interesting history and development . Amongst others, the Grimaldi Castle transformed into a contemporary museum (Picasso Museum), the saracen towers, the cathedral, the Vauban harbour which is one of the most important in the world.The old town of Antibes is a must when one comes to the French Riviera : have a walk around the harbour with its billionnaire quay, in the alleys of the old town where you will find a lot of provençal shops, the market and also many renowned restaurants (such as the Michelangelo).  The Marineland aquatic park is also located in Antibes. It is the largest aquatic park in Europe that produces several shows dayly. It is the place where Luc Besson filmed « The Big Blue » in 1988.
